Blueberry Banana Oats

I don’t know about you, but breakfast is probably my favorite meal of the day. It helps set my mood and intentions for the day! That being said, oatmeal is such a great breakfast food because there are so many different ways you can prepare it. I kept it sweet and simple for this recipe, but will try more favor combinations and complex oatmeal recipes in the future.

Makes 1 serving

Ingredients:

1/4 cup steel-cut oats (dry)

1 cup water

1/2 banana, sliced

1/4 cup fresh blueberries

1 Tbsp. chia seeds

1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

Cooking Instructions:

1. Microwave oats and water in a bowl for about five minutes.

(Make sure you use a big enough bowl, or keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t bubble over!)

2. Once the five minutes are up, add the sliced banana and microwave for another 30 seconds and then stir.

(This really helps give your oatmeal a banana flavor and smooth texture.)

3. Add the rest of the ingredients, mix and enjoy!
